We Are The Lions Ep Review 1

Well balanced and full of hooks, this is a non-stop piece of work, it could easily be something you’d hear out of the states, somehow a real mature but fresh sound too. I really really like it, and I genuinely like it more the more I hear. Bring on the CD I say.

There’s some real tangible atmosphere, and yet the whole thing is really “clean”. I especially like the tweaky vocal effects and the way everyone weaves and balances with the sweet axe, simply awesome.

Wifey “doesn’t dislike it” (a positive coming from a Classic Hits listener), and finds it very easy to have in the background whilst working. I’d unreservedly agree with the latter (the former is a given), my productivity was almost at the expected level whilst this all too short album (repeatedly) cranked!

Empty Streets – Loving the backgroundie intro and fade effects used throughout, they give the song a really deep and roomy feel. Catchy gax.

Harsh Agenda – Easy deep hook, bam! into beasty vox. Love the pace-changing droppy chorus, guttural and mellow melding sweetly, blending back into the verses without losing focus. Nice. Easily my favourite track.

With A Different Face – Another smack in the chops number, easy laid-back mellow caramel wrapped over chewy, droppy strums and cleanly picked gax nuggets. Nice outro tweaks on out … maybe this is my favourite too …

Alex – Now that’s a chorus a stadium could be chanting. A memorable and quick-paced tune, enough laid-back bits to let the mosh rest … and then … back into the chant. Love it! Another favourite – oh man this job sucks 😉

Useless Trivia #42: My weight in gold is $4,959,333.81.
