The Intenders

The Wasted on the Masses album kicks off with a self titled song, which being under 3 minutes makes you instantly want to play it again. The happiness of the artists character (assumption by me), and charisma shines through with banjos and spanish sounding guitars over an upbeat Beatles sounding percussion section.

In fact the entire album is very upbeat and happy and you can tell that they are very passionate about their music.

Punish You has great vocals, however the lyrics tend to repeat which gets annoying after a couple of listens (could be me).

The highlight of the album is The Fastest Sperm, the lyrics are crack up and shows good humour from the guys. The brass section is great and shows how competent the band is as musicians.

O’Sullivan certainly has a knack of producing some quality songs, different tempos and styles that would go down very well in a small club in San Francisco.

I must also mention the CD packaging was top draw. Very professional and the faces of the band members looking through a window sums up the vibrance and energy that The Intenders have.

I also checked out some of the videos on Youtube, it’s worth a look folks – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exp_xZNMxg4.

Overall a great honky tonk style album which is worth the purchase for the summer holidays. Will make a great Christmas present. Thanks guys.
