The Celebration Album Review 1

I first remember hearing Junica AKA Nik Brinkman back in 2011 when Living In My House featuring Pip Brown Aka Ladyhawke was released and I thought it was good a bit 80’s disco and shiny mirrorballs. Unfortunately that first single was released at the same time as The Naked and Famous were big and I really didn’t take a lot of notice because the N&F are so good at what they do. I found Junica’s sound more simple in comparison.

A year later Junica has released his first album The Celebration that has Living In My House on it along with the current single Let Me Go Out which is another classic example of the 80’s retro disco-tec vibe that Junica creates in his music. The hook is quite repetitive but the sound is decent and catchy. Stay is over polished and leans more towards pop. It starts of with some heavy synth that actually gave a little more depth, but over all the album is quite one dimensional. Perfect if you like a little pop and reliving some 80’s disco when lots of synth was really cool.
