Single/Video Review: Natural Feeling

Matching the songs title very aptly South Auckland indie band Haze Lane has produced Natural Feeling, a very organic song that does indeed deliver a very smooth natural feeling. The ultra-cool ambient sound is reminiscent to the early roots sound of Six60 and L.A.B due to the abundance of genteel guitar strums flowing around the warm bass that all flows so effortlessly to a steady beat.

The feel and groove is quite satisfying with its modest but stable rhythm and melody, all of which is a perfect foundation for the wonderful singing delivered by lead vocalist Kruse. His voice has a crisp and clean tone that melodically slides with the music in another faultless union that completes the song so effectively.

Beginning with a straight up flanging guitar strum the tracks dreamy vibe is instantly obvious and thanks to Kruse and his clean tones grabbing your ears within 4 seconds you know this is going to be easy to enjoy. The smooth crooning tonal character is honest and measured, staying true and steadfast with the ambient ensemble of dreamy guitars and sturdy percussion. There is no extravagant diva bursts of vocals or instrumentation, just a laid back 3 minutes and 39 second ride.

Delightful backing vocals and luscious tremolo guitar frills expand the track to give the song a beautifully broad and fulfilling sound. These cool extras are added in a well measured mix that builds nicely as it progresses to its gratifying end. A very easy listening track that has a perfectly down to earth video showing the band playing away in a room keeping it real! A natural 5 out of 5.
