WTFRU, or, Who The Fuck Are You is the new single by Superturtle.

It’s not often that the scant information in a release about a band’s single is so spot on.

The blurb says: “Punk Rock vocals with post punk jangle, John Lydon meets Johnny Marr”; and that’s pretty much what Superturtle’s WTFRU sounds like.

The intro features a guitar riff with the treble turned up so much it’d make Dick Dale’s ears bleed. Then the vocalist kicks off the first stanza and it really does kinda sound like John Lydon meets Jello Biafra, but with a Kiwi accent.

Who The Fuck Are You is acerbic and lyrically very to the point, taking a sharp aim at “corporate cretins, conservative media, polluters and fascists”, to list a few as per the release notes.

It’s a melodic, hard hitting pop song, which as the full title suggests, comes with a profanity warning.
