Single Review: Rich Personality And Notorious Club Girls

Artur Aldridge aka Eastern Bloc unloads his debut single release via his own imprint, FOH Records. No stranger to the Club and House scene, the Ukrainian Producer / DJ has shared the bill with artists such as Fatboy Slim and Dusky during a string of festival events including Splore, Electric Gardens, and Rhythm and Vines. Regular well received remixes and re-works over the past few years has led towards the launch of his own label, due to release not only his own productions, but other artists that also tick the box.

The stand out track of the two Rich Personality, offers a more serious tone straight off the mark, leaning towards a stricter Tech House sound and is sure to get things moving on the dance floor. Reese inspired synth-horn stabs bark in syncopation to the groove, while various dub infused ear candy helps to keep interest and variety throughout the arrangement; a nice touch. This is the kind of track that would lend itself well to future remixes, and it would be interesting to see what other directions the track could go in, with the original mix coming in just shy of four minutes.

Notorious Club Girls is a more straightforward House number, featuring a silky smooth bass-line and floaty synth work, alongside a pronounced vocal sample retaining focus throughout the track. An instrumental version would have added a nice alternative as the vocal may become a bit repetitive for some, but future remixes or extended versions would only be welcomed due to the funky nature the track does well at establishing.

Overall a great opener for Eastern Bloc and for what FOH Records has on offer, and if anything like this release, incoming tracks will equally be well sought after by Club Kids and House aficionados alike.
