Dunedin-transient pop influenced, neo-psychedelic rock slackers Alizarin Lizard have released their second single in a month after about nearly five years of silence when they released their last album Do You Just Want Me To Watch You?
This latest single, No One Could Tell, was mostly recorded in bassist Chris ‘Bugs’ Miller’s lounge, and as a result, the track has a level of fuzz and reverb to it that adds warmth and comfort. Background noises and additional vocal conversation are present in the track but fit in well with the concept of the single, adding on top of the three vocalists already contributing to the band. All in an attempt to create a sense of crowding in a limited space, battling mental claustrophobia.
Outside of the usual guitar, bass and drum combination, No One Could Tell introduces the vibraphone and trombone. It all forms a concerted cacophony of melodious noise that still has a great rhythm reminiscent of that classic rock from the 60’s. A light-hearted dystopia of harmony.

About the author butch181

Hey there! I’m Alex. Long time music lover, long time reviewer, and now I finally get to combine those and be a music reviewer! As a guitarist, pianist, and vocalist, I have a great appreciation for musicianship and the technicalities that go along with a group of people making music together. My genres of preference tend to gravitate towards Punk/Rock/Heavy/Metal, but I also like to dabble in some Classical, Pop, and even some Drum and Bass. Hope you enjoy my contributions!
