Single Review: No More 1

Christchurch based singer-songwriter Madeleine Howard, has just released her catchy new single No More, The first off the ranks of consecutive single releases as she prepares to launch her debut EP, Just Reaching Out.

Originally from the Hawke’s Bay, Madeleine went on to study at the University Of Otago Contemporary Performance Programme for four years, developing a characteristic Kiwi sound which shines through strongly on this single. Described as “definitely one to watch as she emerges into the New Zealand music scene”, No More is a strong and spirited debut to her catalogue of music.

This is a bold rock infused pop track; expressive lyrics are delivered clearly with airy almost mysterious sounding vocals. Madeleine has a distinctive honeyed sound.

Her knack for writing catchy melodies and layering them over memorable hooks is starting to turn heads. I would recommend having a listen.
