Single Review: Just One Step

The 2021 released single Just One Step by Tony Jacob is a sumptuously produced song, with lyrics and a very positive vibe.

“You can move on mountains with just one step, you could take the world on with no regrets..” is only one example of a song which aims to uplift people, and succeeds.

Just One Step is a mathematically perfect pop song, which is expertly constructed; there’s a brief intro, first verse, then the chorus hits about the 40 second mark. Then there’s a key shift up a step after the middle eight, which showcases his stunning voice.

Tony has been described as having a ‘higher than usual’ male voice, and it is a crystal clear high tenor, which some may call a gift from God.

Musically Jacob is no slouch either; the afore mentioned production is modern pop soul 101, with layers of textured instruments and well-chosen electronic drums.

Tony Jacob was born and raised in Auckland, won the Top Male Vocalist of his year at the Excel School of Performing Arts, before winning two Pacific Music Awards with his band Lifestyle of Worship in 2014.

Just One Step is one step towards his debut EP released which Tony is planning to release some time this year.
