Single Review: C’mon Over 1

If RnB with a touch of Soul is your thing, then the smooth sound from Auckland musical artist Valen will be something to look forward in the future when she releases her first EP. But for now we get a taste of what is to come, with her first single C’mon Over.

Valen is not only an R&B singer; she is also a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose influences include Pop Culture YouTube sensation Tori Kelly and underground artists such as Mar and Sonder.

C’mon Over flows very well and the lyrics are engaging. Valen has a natural warm and velvety tone which showcases her strong vocals and creativity. This young lady has a rather lovely voice, sweet yet mellow.

There is substance in this track; it has the soulful vibe you hope to find from a Rhythm and Blues artist, and is backed up by some clever electronic beats. I personally thought this track was a skillful and enticing introduction to what Valen has to offer.

C’mon Over has been mastered by Simon Lynch at Stebbing Studios in Auckland.
