Well….here it is, yet another ear rocking Deja Voodoo album. After hearing the rad sounds off of their 2004 album Brown Sabbath I had quite high expectations of the new arriving Back In Brown release. The new album is packed with songs that you can’t wait to hear live as you know they’re going to get the mosh pit rocking hard. When I first put the CD on, the first track Team Police didn’t really grab my attention and I was beginning to think this album was going to be one of those ones where you have to listen to it over and over before it grows on you.
Flicking through the songs, my mind slowly started changing and I began to like different songs here and there. Before you know it I was singing the words “We’ll build a frat nation, permanent vacation let’s burn the whole country down. Burn it down” to the catchy tune Frat Nation.
I’m not completely positive on what the main concept behind the album is, but in my opinion I think they’re trying to give off a “live your life to its full extent” vibe. With songs such as Frat Nation and Weed On….but hey, like I said That’s just my opinion, each one to his own, right?
All round, I’d give this album a 7 out of 10, definitely shows off some NZ talent and well recommended.
