Under The Radar are absolutely stoked to team up with Yeehawtheboys on our new comics music journalism series Down Under & UTR — made with support from NZ On Air.
Episode 1 stars Theia (Waikato-Tainui, Ngaati Tiipaa) AKA Te Kaahu, who spoke with cartoonist / musician Daniel Vernon (Ngāti Kahungunu Te Wairoa) about overcoming expectation + challenging her conservative religious upbringing with recent single ‘Crucified By U’.
Daniel Vernon is a writer / illustrator who also plays a little music in Dartz, which makes him a wee bit qualified, in his opinion, to create this comic series on musicians. You may know his satirical cartoons from his Instagram page Yeehawtheboys, his work with Re: News, and the Dartz merch.
