The New Things – Announce the Full Moon Phase of the Ironic T-shirt Tour

The New Things bring you original indie-pop, crush songs, and weird musings, direct from surf suburb, Paekākāriki. In true Aotearoa punk tradition, the band is fully DIY managed, recorded and promoted. They write strong melodic pop with hints of the Magnetic Fields, the Breeders, and The Clean.
The New Things are in the midst of their national tour which is supported by the New Zealand Music Commission. They have already played four successful and highly acclaimed shows in the North Island, now they are following two phases of the full-moon, playing Whanganui on the next full-moon and launching south for the following one.
The New Things are Tina McIvor, Jason Tamihana-Bryce, Dwayne Diack, Dave Morgan and Sarah Laing. The second full-moon phase of the Ironic T-Shirt national tour is:
2 September @ Porridge Watson, Whanganui
w/ The Brilliant Swords and Fairlight Choir
29 September @ A Rolling Stone, Christchurch
w/ The Fuzzies and HOIHOI
30 September @ Moons, Dunedin
w/ Ekare, Victor Billot, Chris Wilson, Hysteria and The Fuzzies
The New Things song Vintage Nerd hit No1 on bFM. Radio New Zealand music reviewer, Grant Smithies, called their sound “ace rickety guitar pop like The Raincoats and Look Blue Go Purple” with an “endearing spindliness”.
The New Thigns are also planning to release a new single entitled This Is Not A Pop Song in September.
During the Ironic T-shirt Tour they released a live version of Bike with this interview and video at The 13th Floor.
