Taylor Roche enters a battle of head or heart in brand new single ‘day&night’

Quickly becoming one of New Zealand’s most popular TikTok personalities, Taylor Roche is staying ahead of the curve in more ways than one — racking up millions of views by turning trending sounds into viral videos, he now has over 67.2k followers and is also turning heads in the music scene.
Self-described as a hopeless romantic making songs for other hopeless romantics, the Auckland-based pop/RnB artist returns on August 19th with day&night a rebellious 80’s synth pop triumph detailing a broken relationship hanging by a thread. Co-written with Jake Schrodski of LA Women and produced by key collaborator Joel Jones, the single follows “similar feeling” released in April, which landed on playlists like RnB Feels and Fresh Finds AU & NZ. Accompanying the new single is a visualiser shot by Christian Tjandrawinata, which you can watch here.
On the inspiration behind the song, Taylor says “it’s that feeling when you know deep down that what you have with someone is destructive, yet for some reason you still find yourself gravitating back to them. It’s about navigating the heartbreak of losing someone that wasn’t right for you but also not being able to let go.”
Finding his start performing on cruise ships, Taylor shifted focus to his own artist platform post-pandemic and spent the last year and a half collaborating with up and coming producers and songwriters such as Henry Beasley (Balu Brigada) and Will Henderson (CHAII, Janine), settling on developing his sound with Joel Jones and working on an collection of songs to come in 2023.
