Sylvee delivers a personal triumph with sophomore EP ‘Downpour’

New Zealand singer-songwriter Sylvee is thrilled to release her highly anticipated sophomore EP Downpour. The six track project is a moment of pop-rock attitude and emotion.

Following the success of her debut EP, Life On Mars (2019), which garnered critical acclaim and multiple television syncs on US SYFY and CBS shows ‘Chucky’, ‘Walker’ and ‘The Republic of Sarah’, Sylvee is excited to share her latest work with the world.

Downpour features six tracks that showcase Sylvee’s unique blend of pop and emotion, combining intricate melodies with powerful lyrics. The EP is a journey of self-discovery, exploring themes of love, loss, and the feeling of being weighed down.

With tracks co-written and produced by Simon Gooding (Pink, TEEKS, Tami Neilson), Josh Edmonds (Foley, L.A. Women, Niko Walters), Joseph Corban-Banks, Daniel Martin and long time collaborator Joel Zaia, there’s certainly a lot of love and meticulous detail in this body of work.

Downpour remains true to Sylvee’s signature sound of ethereal vocals. Her warm melodies exude raw emotion, and intricately weave together a landscape of poetic lyricism and production.

Hailing from Nelson; a city renowned for punching well above its weight when it comes to fostering musical talent (think Broods, Robinson), Sylvee’s journey in music has taken her from singing in the primary school choir and tinkering around at home on the piano, to recording in studios across the globe.

With her soaring vocals and innovative sound, Sylvee has quickly become a name to know in the Kiwi music scene. Downpour is sure to solidify her place as one of New Zealand’s most exciting new artists.
