Soundcheck Aotearoa Presents Professional Respect Training

SoundCheck Aotearoa presents three final Professional Respect Trainings for 2023 including a Zoom option in September, and face to face trainings in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) and Ōtautahi (Christchurch) this October. These workshops are available free to everyone in the Aotearoa music community.

The training was designed with the different workplace dynamics and contexts of our music industry in mind, acknowledging that people in the music community work in a range of places including studios, festival grounds, small-large scale offices and more.

The workshop will explore the foundations of safer working environments in an interactive day-long session covering:

– Strategies for preventing sexual harm and fostering a respectful work environment
– Practical tips for bystander intervention
– Guidance for receiving disclosures of sexual harm and supporting survivors
– Options and pathways for reporting sexual harm and support services available
– Definitions of sexual harassment and sexual harm within New Zealand legislation
– WorkSafe obligations and legal requirements for workplaces

The workshops are facilitated by Sexual Harm Prevention and Response Specialists, Rachel Harrison and Mel Calvesbert (SoundCheck Aotearoa SHAPRA).

Training is delivered in a safe and inclusive environment with breaks throughout the day and kai provided.
