Skram Releases 'purrple'

SKRAM, the bold and theatrical pop band, unveils their latest project, Purrple: a radiant anthem and visual statement celebrating gender fluidity, queer masking, and the fluid nature of identity. Launching on February 7th, Purrple merges magnetic production, poetic lyrics, and unapologetic self-expression into a transformative artistic experience.

At its heart, Purrple is a celebration of living authentically in the spaces between definitions. It embraces the joy and power of reshaping perceptions.

“Purple is the color of transition, of living in the in-between. With Purrple, I wanted to explore masking—presenting different facets of yourself and reclaiming every version of who you are. It’s a love letter to fluidity and to everyone still discovering their identity.” – Henry Ashby

The song’s ethereal production and Ashby’s dynamic vocal performance invite audiences into a space of self-discovery and empowerment, amplifying themes of inclusivity and transformation.

Purrple was written by Henry Ashby, Felix Nesbitt and Dylan Jennings of SKRAM, recorded at The Lab Studios with Greg Haver producing and Scott Seabright engineering. Purrple was mixed by Clint Murphy and Mastered at Sterling Studios by Ryan Smith.

Meet SKRAM: the musical group where chaos meets charm. Fronted by Henry, a genderfluid singer with a flair for the dramatic and a voice that swings from soft ballads to soaring high notes, SKRAM blends the theatrical with the raw. Felix brings the heat on drums, with wild energy that electrifies every beat. Think Queen’s grandeur, Coldplay’s anthemic vibes, and the playfulness of Harry Styles — all wrapped up in a performance that’s unapologetically inclusive, bursting with love, and all about taking care of each other. Found over the summer touring the country and playing on amazing Festival stages such as SPLORE – SKRAM recently had a number one single with their latest release Serendripity. With a myriad of releases and a massive summer on the way, SKRAM is the band to look out for in 2025.
