SHAYNA releases ‘Alchemy’ Feat. Rei

Christchurch singer-songwriter SHAYNA is back with addictive new single Alchemy, featuring NZ bilingual artist Rei.

Born from a collaboration project at APRA Songhubs, which brought together a group of 20+ NZ & International songwriters and producers in Auckland’s Roundhead Studios, Alchemy tells the story of “making gold out of nothing” and “synchronising pleasure” as SHAYNA & Rei perform their pop & RnB hooks over a progressive bass line & glittery high-level production.

Complete with visuals by Kwasnik Pictures showcasing the artists literally dripping & swimming in gold, the song speaks to manifesting desires and creating abundance through the powerful forces of connection. 

Alchemy was produced & co-written by Los Angeles based Songwriter & Record Producer Justin Gray (Avril Lavigne, Mariah Carey, John Legend, Joss Stone & NZ’s own Six60 with their recent #1 single Please Don’t Go) who’s projects have sold in excess of 40 million copies and more than 8 billion streams world-wide. 

Co-writers on the track also include Alex Farrell-Davey (lead singer from the group Alae) and multi-award-winning bilingual artist Rei (#1 US Viral Chart with Good Mood & over 5 million streams on Spotify) who also features on the track.

Alchemy comes after SHAYNA’s previous releases Miles Away & I Know which debuted on Apple Music’s Best of the Week and The A List: Pop playlists, as well as Spotify’s New Music Friday and New Pop Sounds.  The singles hit & #1 on the Official NZ Top 40 Heatseekers Singles Chart and #10 in the Spotify NZ viral tracks in the first week of release. 

An established touring songwriter & musician, SHAYNA was a recent participant in APRA Songhubs 2019 International Songwriting camp, and was a recent showcase artist at New Zealand’s ‘Going Global’ Music Summit.
