Polo Baby embodies the house music essence, infused with spoken word rap elements. Its vibrant analogue vibe, coupled with its thoughtful lyrics, creates an irresistible energy that can lure any crowd onto the dance floor. Whether setting the mood for a runway show or igniting a party atmosphere, this song exudes an undeniable allure.

Crafted under the engineering prowess of Alan Jansson, known for his work as the producer of OMC’s How Bizarre, It was meticulously mastered by Stuart Hawkes, whose impressive portfolio includes artists such as Amy Winehouse, Ed Sheeran, and Stormzy, among others.

Polo Baby came into existence three years ago when Jesse Mgrath (IMAG) shared an Instagram video of a Russian house song that resonated with him at the time. He was en route to Tauranga when he sent it. “Inspired by the moment, I crafted the beat in just 30 minutes. Upon his arrival, Jesse noticed his baby adorned in full Ralph Lauren Polo attire, sparking the lyrics and concept for the song. And thus, Polo Baby was born,” says Tama Owens AKA Risky.

The latest single from Risky Records follows on from the success of Midnight Crush featuring Prynne late last year.

Risky Records transcends mere music production. Collaborating with Alan Jansson, the label has produced hits with global artists like Hanin Elias of Atari Teenage Riot, Matiflow, The Shottaz, and Risky Records represents a fusion of innovation and tradition, bringing new sounds to life through the combination of established talent and fresh perspectives.

The artist behind Risky Records, Tamawera Putauaki Louis Owens, is a proud descendant of Ngai Tamawera and grandson of Sir Robert Owens. His deep roots in the Ngāti Awa, Te Arawa, and Tūhoe tribes influence his unique musical style. Owens has shared stages with notable artists such as Black Sun Empire, Wilkinson, and The Prototypes, showcasing his versatility and appeal.

With more exciting releases to come from Risky Records, 2024 is set to be their year.
