'poetik Justice' For All As Samoan/kiwi Rapper Poetik Drops His Debut Album This June

Born in the west of Tamaki Makaurau but raised in the streets of Samoa, Poetik (real name Ventry Parker) has brought a distinct Pasifika blend to his 90’s West Coast flows, earning him Best Pacific Male Artist and nominations for Hip Hop Artist and Album (for EP Hamofied 2) at the Pacific Music Awards 2020.

In what is his debut album, Poetik Justice will launch on June 25th and with its clean and melodic sounds, he embraces the culture of the street and his Samoan roots through his story-telling and well-timed word play. Pushing his vocal limit, lacing harmonies and experimenting with different flow patterns, the result is a distinctive blended sound.

Featuring a range of artists from West Coast legends, MC Eiht and Kokane along with upcoming Cali star Yung LB on the title track; to local artists Chong Nee who sheds light on the stress falling on artists in track, Leave Me Alone; Raggadat Cris in F.A.M.E, a modern sounding blend of rhythm and rhyme; Lucky Lance of Team Dynamite & Melodownz get their party buzz on in Vailima Bottle; Lion Rezz delves into the journey of sorrow and pain, and how to keep pushing forward; Sammy Johnson brings his exceptional vocals and his undeniable talent to MC Flowz.

From humble beginnings recording tracks in a chicken shack in Samoa, to world class studio Parachute Studios, where the 14 track album was laid down after Covid halted the planned LA recording, Poetik Justice was mixed and mastered by award winning Chris Chetland of KOG, engineered by Dan Martin and co-produced by BASS 685 and Poetik from For The Ville Ent. Smokeygotbeatz produced 3 songs on the album.

His background is a testament to his strength and drives him to always stay true to himself, his fans and his sound, which is engrained and apparent through every track of this album. Not afraid to speak his truth on the struggles of poverty, love, the hood, culture, racism, street violence and the devilish side of the music industry this is what in itself the album stands for.

Virtue is rewarded. Evil is punished. Poetik Justice. Drops 25th June.
