Pinn Tweaks arrives on the scene to ‘Tear the Walls Down’

Jason Peters is a man of many guises. Formerly the drummer with 90’s rock legends Pumpkinhead, and more recently helming dance act Kong Fooey, today he has launched his new musical endeavour, the cleverly-named Pinn Tweaks.
Debut Pinn Tweaks single Tear the Walls Down mixes up hip hop and trap with R’n’B and soul, and features some fantastic vocal talent: J Williams and young rapper Dilz.
Dilz is a 24-year-old hip hop artist whose album Metamorphosis debuted at #2 on the New Zealand Hip-Hop charts. J. Williams is a singer and hip hop dancer whose crews have been medal winners at the World Hip-Hop Dance Champs. In 2008 his debut album Young Love debuted at No.5 on the NZ Official NZ Music Charts; from 2013 – 2016 he toured Australia in The Lion King.
So what is the song about?
We all build walls within ourselves that sabotage our goals and dreams, walls that are built from fear and judgement. This song is a rally cry to tear down those walls, stand tall and live your dreams.

(As an aside, Peters is also the organiser of the Aaron Tokona Tribute Buzz shows currently touring New Zealand in memory of the late Aaron Tokona, who passed away in June. He has pulled together a fantastic line-up to pay tribute to Tokona – including Joel Shadbolt (L.A.B.), Francis Kora (Kora) Clint Harris and Andy Lynch (OpShop / The Feelers), Gareth Price & Tosh Graham (Semi Lemon Kola), Jason Peters (Pumpkinhead), Jason Faafoi (The Stereo Bus), Tuma Tokona & Hori Pirere (AHoriBuzz), Alex Ferrier & Sam Holdom (Skinny Hobos) and Jimi Kara (Fly My Pretties).)
