New album out now from Killergrams

Killergrams are an Arrowtown based recording project that have just soft released their brand-new EP Lonely Nights In A Little Town. Killergrams is led by composer and singer-songwriter Tom Maxwell which includes a revolving door of friends and guest musicians including Ryan Fisherman, Elmore Jones and Holly Arrowsmith among others.

Their first collection of songs released since 2019’s Midnight Hours, Lonely Nights… was written and recorded by Maxwell in Lyttleton with renowned producer Ben Edwards. Lonely Nights… sees Killergrams taking steps into a new, genre bending direction. Selected from 12 tracks recorded over 10 days, Lonely Nights… feels infinitely larger than the bands’ previous work but is altogether more personal and intimate, expanding upon the poignant, sincere and heartfelt lyrics from Killergrams’ earlier material. Maxwell’s voice sits on top of sparse acoustic guitars, delicate piano and lush vocal harmonies at one point, only to be suddenly surrounded by dense layers of distorted guitars and chaotic, crashing drums the next.
