Mudbelly Release New Single ‘Flock’
Bluesy rockers MudBelly have teamed up with the talented Toby Lloyd (Shapeshifter, Hollie Smith) to produce a uniquely defiant and pleasantly grungy tear-jerker. Flock is a bitter-sweet tale that knows when to turn on the cynical after burners. Delivering pathos and laconic humour simultaneously, the track has been attracting early plaudits and will charm sentimentalists and hard rock aficionados alike.
Any story that tells of the devolution of someone’s soul-mate into a distant stranger (let’s face it, possibly the ultimate mind f–k) runs the risk of becoming sentimental goo. This track however has had the blowtorch satisfyingly run over it, creating a warm heart-breaker of a track. Toby understands dynamic range as well as any current producer, and here he lets Bex’s soulful vocals thread between pithy verses and dramatically vulnerable choruses.
