Minuit To Release Final Live Shows Online

In November 2014, NZ band Minuit held their Final Fling with a series of six rib-rattling shows in Auckland, Wellington, Nelson and Christchurch. Now they’re releasing an 80-minute live video via YouTube with footage edited from all six shows.

“When we did the final shows, we promised we would film it and release it sometime in the future,” says band member Paul Dodge. “That sometime is this Friday afternoon. There’s shudder and shake; out of focus and out of time – just like being at the real gig! But some cool moments got captured. We wanted it to feel as if you’re at one of those shows.”

The video can be viewed for free via YouTube, but conscientious online citizens are encouraged to visit the band’s merch table at BandCamp and ‘pay-what-you-like’.

“We want anyone to see it who wants to see it. Then if you feel you want to pay the price of admission, you can head along to Minuit’s virtual merch table where there’s the whole back-catalogue, remixes, the double vinyl (of the aptly titled Last Night You Saw This Band), even Ruth’s book (I Felt Like A Fight, Alright?). You could get a gift for a friend?”

Now before you ask, this doesn’t announce a comeback tour.

“We just wanted to make this available. For people who couldn’t make it to the shows. And for those who did. Or anyone who had never seen Minuit play before. Maybe something for the grandkids, y’know? Get a crew together, find out who has the best speakers, and turn it up!”

And if you were at one of the final shows?

“Thanks to everyone who was in shot! It was a blast.”

A blast from le past.

The video will go live at 3pm Friday 22 April viathe band’s YouTube channel.
