Lester Teams Up With Fable For Introspective Single 'lost And Found'

Lester and Fable bring an eclectic yet cohesive sound to bridge the gap between underground and orthodox. Lost and Found continues the chronicle, almost five years on, from Lester’s single Scene, which made waves in the lo-fi hip-hop community and featured on Majestic Casual. Lost and Found is set to earn the burgeoning rapper a place in everyone’s favourite playlist.

Lester picks up the pace in his latest single Lost and Found, delivering an up-tempo, honest portrayal of the woefully familiar depressive mind-state. Past-and-present-style rap verses are complemented by the silky sounds of south-Tamaki Makaurau popstar Fable, while spellbinding guitar lines and contemporary synth production hum throughout. In a time of crisis, Lester “moved on and made art for loners”, and highlights the poor approach to mental health in Aotearoa, spouting he “didn’t want to talk about it but, no one really wants to talk about it.” Lester tells his story through outspoken lyricism and a clever cadence, evoking emotion while effortlessly grabbing the listener’s hand and holding it tight from start to finish.

Lost and Found is the title track off Lester’s forthcoming EP, due for release August 2023.
