Kiwi rock band Powder Chutes release new track ‘Straights’

Blurring the line between party anthem and social commentary, Powder Chutes follow up Merchants and Dutchies with rock anthem Straights.
Like Bliss on speed, the third track from Powder Chutes forthcoming debut album can be taken as an insightful commentary on binge drinking culture, or appropriated by the masses as a party tune, or both. Much like Peter Ulrich’s classic Th’ Dudes track, the irony is that Straights can be extremely thought provoking, or completely mindless, depending on the listener’s perspective and interpretation… either way it’s a summer anthem!
Straights arrives on 18th October, and has already proved to be an absolute crowd-slayer on their recent national tour, which has garnered overwhelmingly positive attention to date:
“Every now and then we come across new music which we just know has the potential to be something massive, and the flames of that fire were well and truly stoked on Friday night at Last Place in Hamilton, as Powder Chutes took to the stage.” – Lisa Jones, Muzic.net.nz
“Powder Chutes, a rock band with a capital ‘R’… they take to the stage with the relaxed confidence of youth and provide solid evidence of why they are bound for bigger venues” Fraser Lewry, Classic Rock Magazine
” As Explosive as it gets!” – Attila, DownUnder Photography
