Jed Parsons releases unconditional love song, ‘She’s The One’

Following on from the lockdown favourite, Playstation & Porn, Christchurch indie singer-songwriter, Jed Parsons returns with new single, She’s The One.

“Usually I have a pretty strong idea of how a song should end up sounding before I get into the studio,” says Jed Parsons of the new single.

“But She’s The One only really came to life during the recording process. I do remember listening to Rain by Dragon before the initial invention of the song, and feeling inspired to write something with a sort of ‘fake-chorus’ followed by a ‘super-chorus’… that was my only ambition.”

“The chorus lyrics were written about two minutes before I recorded them and they ended up being some of my favourites. That’s often the way with my tunes – I perform them live where I can get away with singing absolute gibberish, and then I get in to the studio and have a ‘fuck, I haven’t actually written this song yet’ moment. She’s The One was certainly one of those, it is my version of a typical ‘unconditional-love-even-for-a-crazy-person’ song.”

She’s The One is the second single from Jed Parsons’ upcoming 10-track sophomore album, due for release later this year. The album is set to follow-up his critically acclaimed 2018 debut, Midnight Feast.
