Hannah May releases dreamy new single ‘Higher Heights’
North Queensland based indie artist Hannah May has announced the release of her latest single, Higher Heights.
Featuring an original blend of pop, soul and roots, the mesmerizing new single Higher Heights showcases Hannah May in a new light as it explores sounds and genres outside of her signature indie folk style. The cleverly crafted lyrics of Higher Heights‘ are sure to resonate with listeners on a personal level while the catchy melody and transcending instrumentals make you feel like you are floating through an alternate universe. When the song idea came about in 2022, it was a no-brainer for Hannah May to dive into the studio with Gold Coast producer Tim Goodburn and release it as a single. Inspired by the pressures of a society driven by money and success, Higher Heights uses metaphorical references of space to describe the encompassing feeling of wanting to escape the madness.
“I’ve ventured down an exciting new path with this song and I’m incredibly excited for my listeners to hear it” said Hannah May. “It’s been a long time in the making and my favourite track I’ve ever written.”
Hannah May has been making waves on the New Zealand and Australian music scene since 2015 where she placed in 7th on The hit TV series The X Factor NZ as part of Kiwi country duo Mae Valley.
