Eyegum Scenic Tours #3 Announced

Eyegum Music Collective is excited to announce the next iteration of its regular tour series ‘Eyegum Scenic Tours’. As part of the tour Eyegum will be showcasing the vast array of local talent the collective works with throughout Aotearoa.

To kick off this June-August, Eyegum is pleased to announce Koizilla and Sleeping Village as the next two bands to hit the road.

Eyegum Music Collective Co-Curator Joel Cosgrove says, “Koizilla need no introduction, one of Aotearoa’s most hard working and prolific psych bands, these folks are so much fun” he adds “We’re really excited to be bringing Sleeping Village out to the wider motu, they’re such a great live band”

June 30 – Tāmaki Makaurau – Whammy w/ Ripship

July 21 – Ōtautahi – Wunderbar w/ This Dog

July 22 – Ōtepoti – The Crown w/ Blue Cheese & Cuck

August 4 – Te Whanganui-a-Tara – San Fran w/ Ripship

August 5 – Whanganui – You Know Where w/ Space Trash & Lavender Menace

Composed of brothers Josh (drums) and Zac Nicholls (guitar/vocals), Hilary Faul (flute/organ), and Connor Blackie (bass/vocals), Koizilla have four national tours under their belt, headlined Newtown Festival, and released two albums and four EPs. Their last single I Can’t See Anything was the number 12 song on the Hot singles list in the NZ Music Chart Website. Their songs weave together smooth slow jams and ferocious riffs that rip at an almost un-headbangable pace. Groovy, melodic, and masters of sun-kissed summer anthems, Koizilla are known for their high energy live sets.

Sleeping Village is a seven piece ensemble unbound by genre, puppeteered by Oscar Alty. Hailing from Te Whanganui-a-Tara, the Village sound has been described as everything from luscious and beautiful to deeply unhinged. Combining elements of blues, ambient, doom metal, noise, country, post-rock and more to create a unique and truly bonkers sonic experience.
