Daffodils Announce Local Supports On Stay The Night Tour

Kicking off in just two weeks time, Daffodils with special guests The Lazy Eyes (AU) are stoked to announce even more special guests with an epic line up of support acts for each show.

Ōtepoti based Neive Strang will open the night in Dunedin. With her latest EP I Am The Ribbon released earlier this year, her Dunedin brand of indie rock will set the tone for the night perfectly.

Imperial April will bring their infectious power pop to the stage in Ōtautahi Christchurch. Blending catchy melodies and contemplative lyrics, Imperial April will deliver a high energy show for all.

Opening Auckland’s show at the Hollywood Avondale is indie electronic artist Baby Zionov. With earworms such as PJ Princess and Star becoming mainstays on bFM, fans can expect the genre bending artist to turn it up to 11 for her set! Having just released her album Henrietta into the world earlier in July, this will be fans first chance to hear these songs live.

In Wellington, Bleeding Star will bring their melodic noise rock to the stage. With influences such as Greg Dulli, Bailterspace and Bob Mould, Bleeding Star write punchy songs with cool, calm and collected melodies.

This will be fans first chance to hear Daffodils brand new EP Stay The Night played live in what promises to be a wild night of magical musicianship, big feelings, youthful abandon and a heap of fun. If one was to need a reference point, the video for title track Stay The Night is a good start.

Clocking in at five songs, Stay The Night EP each track captures different stages of a relationship and how those in them evolve over time. Receiving support from all bNet radio, Radio Hauraki, MTV and online tastemakers such as SNIFFERS, Under The Radar and Coup de Main, Stay The Night is Daffodils in full bloom, at their reflective best bringing their legions of fans along for the ride. The title track debuted at #18 on the NZ Singles chart and with over 50k monthly listeners on Spotify, Daffodils are ready to take the show on the road!

Joining Daffodils on all shows are The Lazy Eyes. Based in Sydney, The Lazy Eyes have just come off some monster Australian dates, playing Byron Bay’s Splendour In The Grass and supporting The Strokes on their Australian tour plus supporting global indie favs Wet Leg in Sydney as Daffodils did in Auckland. With scenestr.com describing their recent supporting set as ‘Effortlessly impressive’ this will be Kiwi fans first chance to see The Lazy Eyes perform on our shores.

Recently, Theo Salmon (guitar/vocals) and Louis Graham (bass) from Daffodils sat down with Harvey Geraghty (guitar/vocals) and Itay Sachar (guitar) from The Lazy Eyes to swap tour stories, favourite snack tips and more. Check it out here.

Remaining tickets for all dates are on sale now. Auckland is all ages and in Wellington, under 18s need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian. All other shows are R18.
