Club Classic Announces The New Single 'richie Whiskey'

Wellington band Club Classic is thrilled to announce the release of their latest single Richie Whiskey, available everywhere on 25 September 2020.

Richie Whiskey is an energetic funk-rock track about ‘that guy’ you see causing trouble at a house party. Let the driving bassline, blistering guitar solos and powerful vocal performance from lead singer Joe Raea tell you the story of Richie Whiskey’s whirlwind night out.

Club Classic are an emerging Indie-funk band looking to make their mark on the New Zealand music scene. Formed in early 2019, the band wanted to create a sound that was upbeat, funky and made people want to dance. Inspired by bands such as Parcels, Sticky Fingers and Red Hot Chilli Peppers, the band created a dynamic live set made up of their brand of ‘Indie Funk’.

Since debuting at a house party in Ngaio, the band has quickly made an impact on their local scene with a popular demo release and a highly praised show on the main stage of the 2019 Wellington Lantern Festival.

This early success in the Wellington region has brought them to The Surgery, a legendary recording studio used by renowned NZ Artists L.A.B., Dave Dobbyn and The Black Seeds.Working with producer Toby Lloyd, the band got to work to develop their latest funky release Richie Whiskey.

Club Classic plans on sharing their new single and other groovy tunes at a number of shows across Wellington in October and November 2020. Catch them in Wellington at Meow alongside class Wellington acts Pass the Peas and Androgynous Lemon on October 15th.
