Casual Healing today releases his EP Ahi. Since his impressive debut in 2024 with his album Driftwood, Casual Healing wasted no time in captivating audiences across sold out tours and festival experiences in both Australia and New Zealand, that have included, but have not been limited to, SXSW Sydney, Rhythm & Vines, Homegrown, TSB Festival of Lights, and more.

Redefining himself as an artist in 2025, Casual Healing has recorded and will release a series of 4 EPs inspired by Te Taio, the natural world. Each EP will be unique in genre and theme, representing the balance of the four key elements in our world Ahi (fire), Hau (wind), Wai (water), and One (earth).

Ahi features a number of key collaborations: Kenzie From Welly (Aroha), Dub Princess (Morning Ritual), The Hongi Slicker AKA Troy Kingi (Water The Good Seed) and MĀ (Hypersensitive). Each track maintaining its own clear sonic identity while seamlessly blending into one another in its broader context, Ahi matches Nikau’s Libra energy – everything balanced and in its right place.

On 28th March, Casual Healing released Hypersensitive as the lead single from Ahi, which currently sits at #8 on the Official Hot 20 Aotearoa Single Charts. The track is also accompanied with a vibrant-fever dream-style music video thanks to the support of NZ On Air.

Hypersensitive was produced by Te Huki at his studio Te Whare Chur and also features a unique poetic display from one of Aotearoa’s most authentic rappers – Mā. This dark-psychotropic, snake-charming-trip-hop track takes the mind on a journey through the ego to the center of truth, love and discipline, while also reminding us of this young artists ability to morph a wide collection of genres including Reggae, Hip Hop, Soul and Middle Eastern melodies.

Casual Healing has just announced his Nationwide Tour presented by Live Nation, One NZ and Ones To Watch, beginning in Auckland at the Tuning Fork on Thursday May 1, followed by a performance at Meow Nui in Wellington on Thursday May 8. Tickets go on sale at 12pm Monday April 14.
