Beat Rhythm Fashion Release New Single and Video – ‘We Be Free’

Following up from the previous 2 singles from the Critical Mass Album (entering at No. 4 (NZ albums) & No. 37 in the all album charts), Failsafe Records presents Beat Rhythm Fashion’s We Be Free, a song about the fight for personal freedoms. “In a divisive time – families split, communities fractured and friendships failed over conflicting beliefs and compliance. A common theme above all of this is that, as far as I can tell, at the end of the day, no one doesn’t want to be free.”
The single is accompanied by a music video Here
Beat Rhythm Fashion still pull no punches, take no prisoners, and in an era of watching what you say it comes as a refreshing burst of new air to hear the band in full flight, in their ‘outside observer position’ contemplating almost 4 decades of changing, but not changing world landscape, delivered, encased in BRF’s trademark ethereal, mesmeric, melodic and beautiful music.
“Critical Mass is a powerful & worthy addition to the catalogue, an intimate, personal, & heartfelt offering from a band of exceptional musical artisans.” – Peter Malthus – Muzic.net.nz
“Nino Birch is a songwriter who has something to say with his unique “outside observer” view of the world, & he and his bandmates say it well.” – Marty Duda – The 13th Floor
“This is an album full of crafted and thoughtful lyrics. Nino is clearly a deep, contemplative and reflective thinker, who is capable of looking both inward and outward.” – HUP – Ian Duggan
“A real step up. It’s a full embrace of moody & melodic Goth-like dreampop impressive sonic breadth & Birch’s intelligent, thought-provoking sociopolitical lyrics.” – Graham Reid – Elsewhere
“Birch is a man who cares deeply about the world. A thinker, & someone who isn’t shy about asking hard questions. Almost every track offers a lyric or line which seeks to provoke or prompt an alternative view of the world, which is never really a bad thing. It’s a much fuller sound than the early stuff. Birch’s voice has aged well, & I’d contend that Critical Mass contains some of his strongest, most nuanced vocal work.
There’s a lot to love about where Beat Rhythm Fashion finds itself in 2024, Critical Mass is one of those rare local releases that just gets stronger with each & every listen. An album that requires multiple listens before all of its subtle charms are fully exposed.” – Mike Hollywood – Everything’s Gone Green
The We Be Free Single is available on hi-resolution digital download from Bandcamp. The Critical Mass album is also now available in deluxe edition CD and hi res digital download from the Failsafe Records Bandcamp & Webstore.
