Velez

Velez are about to make huge waves on the music scene. With a songwriting maturity that belies their years (all 17-18 years old), this five-piece from West Auckland have already set ears burning with their appearances at various band battles and small venues.

Andrew Featherstone (Battle of the Bands, Intergalactic Records, 8 Foot Sativa management) says “Velez were one of the most promising bands in the last two years who performed in the New Zealand Battle of the Bands. They have a unique style and impressive song writing skills, as well as being accomplished musicians – they should go far!”

They have a maturity of songwriting, musicianship and arrangements which is rare, even amongst bands much older and more experienced.”

Barely out of Avondale College where the quintet formed in early 2002, Velez are about to launch their musical career with their debut single ‘Without You’. Three and a half minutes of alt-pop brilliance which is sure to be a b-net and Channel Z favourite!
