For Lola, music is only one part of a beautiful and brutal equation. In the same tradition as Björk, Imogen Heap, and Sevdaliza, the emerging vocalist and producer creates dark experimental pop music draped in multimedia visuals that drinks deeply from the wellsprings of the avant-garde, queer club culture, runway music and transhumanist themes. “Music can be quite hallucinatory for me,” she explains. “Whenever I’m creating, I think about the cinematic nature of worldbuilding.”
