Hang Glider

Hang Glider is a three-piece indie band from Wellington, New Zealand, playing dirty, supernatural, Southern-style alt rock. Mike, Em and Paul met at a dive bar in central Wellington over Halloween 2022, drawn together by grunge, whisky and the darker-side of the 90’s dance scene.

Fusing indie, 90’s hardcore, grunge and garage rock, with Delta-blues riffs and storytelling, their lyrics cross the perilous divide between spiritual damnation, leaving your lover, and divine retribution. A hip-shaking rhythm section, splintering guitar riffs and heart-on-the-sleeve vocals will make you want to dance, ingest something you probably shouldn’t, and start a religious cult.
