Formed in 1997, Blindspott are one of New Zealand’s most successful rock/metal bands. Going straight to #1 upon release in 2002, their iconic debut self-titled album Blindspott sold multi-platinum in New Zealand and was released in Australia, South East Asia and Japan.

Their first hit single, Nil By Mouth was a success in 2001, gaining major airplay on TV and radio channels across the country. Following a number of hit songs, the emotionally charged anthem track Phlex reached No. 2 on the charts.

Blindspott were the first NZ band to have both their 1st and 2nd albums debut on the NZ Music charts at #1 and the first band in history to have album debut at #1 twice!

In June 2020 the band re-released their iconic self-titled first album Blindspott in vinyl which went straight into the charts at #1 the first band in history to have album debut at #1 twice. They also went on to win the Rock’s ‘Rock Wars’ a listener voted knock out format to find the best rock band, beating out Pink Floyd to take the honours.

After a great 2020 the band announced they would be hitting the studio for the first time in over 15 years to writ and record new material.

The bands first single in over 15 years saw fans in a frenzy of anticipation seeing the track R.I.P. making The Rock’s 2021 Rock 2000 Countdown without even being heard.
It debuted in the countdown at a staggering #60!

The band has released 2 of a series of 4 volumes (EP’s) which will formulate a full length album to be released on vinyl in 2024. The first 2 volumes gained high rotation airplay with 3 singles charting.
