The Orchid Door is the follow up album to the successful debut album Rest Room that was released in 2006 by then, Recliner.

This album is described as dark, moody pop and I would have to agree. The combination of Belinda and Darlene’s vocals are serene and mystical, they captivate you into the melody. The guitars are shadowy and hypnotic and overall sound and style is smooth and transparent yet weightless.

This is a very evocative album; the lyrics are well written and well executed. There is simplicity to the tracks, which flow easily throughout the whole album. While most tracks have a hauntingly, subtle nature, there are flashes of a rock bass undertone.

This is a solid album and to choose a favourite track or two would not give it justice. This is an album that needs to be enjoyed in its entirety.
