It is only fitting that LA Mitchell’s beautiful song ‘Apple Heart’ have an equally beautiful and contempo cool music video.

The song ‘Apple Heart’ is already an aching love ballad and it’s not easy to get the right balance of complimentary and interesting in a music video that doesn’t take away from the song or completely over power it. Usually when this happens everyone forgets what the song was about because the music video was so good. I like the ease of both the song and the music video, which when compared to the last time we saw knitting and balls of yarn on a music video it was to Stereogram’s crazy good Walkie Talkie Man music video. It almost makes you miss going for a cup of tea at nana’s with the fluffy pink tea cosy, until you realise that you and all your friends should learn how to knit because it would be cool!

Filmed around Auckland’s Wynyard Quarter, the video was Directed by Elena Doyle with Matt Meikle as DOP. Wool balls courtesy of Rachel Bache.
