As luck would have it, I’ve stumbled on the backyard of stunning model and recent nzblokes ‘Babe of the Week’ – Sophie Burnside. Sophie is absolutely stunning and a quick Google search reveals that Sophie is also a bright, intelligent and health conscious individual… we even share a mutual friend on Facebook – how’s about that?! Anyway back to Sophie, she’s gorgeous, totally lovely – I’m loving her black leather look `kini and her hair looks amazing; plus I make a mental note to try and find out who did her lashes and if they’re extensions cause they are totally boss! When Sophie’s not stretching out on her ‘sun’ lounger, she’s taking a somewhat reluctant dip in the pool. Yes, Sophie’s having a grand time in her backyard on her pool deck; enjoying the expanse of Waikato vista stretching out behind her. Lush green grass; great heaving undulating hills, a melodic rock two piece wearing sunglasses playing in the corner…wait, what?!

Oh right! Look! There’s Medusa Glare! Hamilton’s own purveyors of classic styled rock, who unfortunately play a supporting star role in their own video when Burnside’s about. Simon Koretz of 8-Forty-8 brings us his side project and this new single release, No Tomorrow – is getting the full treatment video-wise. The tune reminds me of a simpler time, 80s ballads or like a Motley Crue track slowed down to morphine speed with lyrics like ‘You’re the only one I’ll ever love/tell me what’s your name?’ or ‘I wanna take a ride/in your amusement park right now’…how CAN a girl say, no?

It’s a bit of rough n tumble, old styled rock that wears it’s heart on it’s sleeve and it’s intentions on it’s zipper. If you’re a fan of 70s-80s rock; Airborne (for lyrical content not so much riffage – Diamond in the Rough, anyone? No? Ok.) or dare I say The Darkness… then you’re going to love it.
