Single Review: Cotton Candy 1

What would one expect from a song called Cotton Candy? Cotton candy brings that hit of nostalgia and pleasant memories of theme parks, carnivals, and other exciting activities. This synthpop track follows that train of thought with an incredibly upbeat, 8-bit video game vibe to it. It has a consistent, thick, thudding beat that drives the track along, almost like a raised heartbeat during a sugar rush.

Cotton Candy has an impressive measure of lyrics for an electronic single, that exhibits great skill in their use of diction with naturally flowing lyrics whose syllables tracks the beat of the song beautifully. Controlled harmonies, and clean melodies. Every aspect of Cotton Candy is bright and bubbly. You cannot listen to this song, close your eyes, and imagine yourself in a dark or negative situation. It has the innate ability to put a smile on your face.

While only two and a half minutes in length, you can actually leave it on repeat for quite a long time and remain content; it’s incredibly catchy, and the strength of the hook of the song is unbelievable. Where is their Facebook page? I think Fanfickk definitely deserves a following (and that is coming from a rock listener).

Hey there! I’m Alex. Long time music lover, long time reviewer, and now I finally get to combine those and be a music reviewer! As a guitarist, pianist, and vocalist, I have a great appreciation for musicianship and the technicalities that go along with a group of people making music together. My genres of preference tend to gravitate towards Punk/Rock/Heavy/Metal, but I also like to dabble in some Classical, Pop, and even some Drum and Bass. Hope you enjoy my contributions!
