Single Review: Weekend 1

Another smooth and gratifying song by Eyreton Hall, that soothes the senses with its easy flowing style and melodic grace. With steady rhythmic folk music that rolls along so sweetly and is sprinkled with lovely colour spurts dispensed by a flirting electric guitar and keyboards.

As always with Eyreton Hall the lead vocals from Toni Randle is a real treat, firstly it’s so wonderfully crisp, clear and strong, helping to drive the tune and let you absorb the lyrics and its message, of how she will “take away the ugly of the weekend” and secondly Toni’s singing voice is so sweet and full of beautiful texture and character that your ears start smiling.

There is so much to like about this song, and its lyric video, where the already perfectly comprehendible lyrics are also displayed to beautiful images of Toni with her musical and life partner Andrew Keegan that kaleidoscope hypnotically in a wonderfully artistic union of music and images. One listen and you know it’s good, and after many more it just gets better, and you feel all the better for it.
