Single Review: Pretty Little Caption 1

The Wake Up from Palmerston North have just released their latest upbeat single Pretty Little Caption. This follows on from Castle which was another upbeat poppy number.

There is something about the vibe of the band that reminds me of the Cardigans, the Bangles or Belinda Carlisle - maybe it’s the talented vocals which are beautifully laid out.

The powerful drums are relentless throughout with power chords thrown in along with spangly keyboards and driving bass line.

The chorus is very catchy and definitely worthy of radio play. I would categorise this single as pop with a slant towards rock and I am looking forwards to seeing them play live in the future.

Word of warning, this may get stuck in your head!

You can listen to Pretty Little Caption on Spotify.
