Single Review: Boomers In Disguise
Hazza Making Noise
Auckland based Cantabrian,
disillusioned architect and sausage roll enthusiast Harry Platt who goes under the pseudonym Hazza Making Noise, has just released a new single called Boomers In Disguise. Cross a football chant with a rock opera and inject it with punk-rave then you will have a fair idea about the unique concept which Harry describes as having “an early Arctic Monkeys – Brianstormesque nature to it”.
Harry of Hazza Making Noise has some impressive vocals going on. He pulls off the rock opera vibe nicely with a theatrical sound, vaguely reminded me of a cross between Michael Hutchence and Robbie Williams. The song itself has a catchy melody which has the potential to get stuck in your head. There is a definite punky electro synth sound which is accompanied by an abstract political reference to baby boomers.
This is a highly energetic track which should get you out of your chair and onto the dance floor (one day in the future). Boomers In Disguise takes you by the shoulders and shakes you awake with its fast pace and melodic rock sound.
I have never heard of Altpop Rocktech Plunge before, but I like it. Check it out for a dose of invigoration.
