Single Review: Count Me Out 1

Auckland based young singer-songwriter Sabreen Islam, has just released the third and final instalment of her “pop trifecta” the last of three songs called Count Me Out. A light and airy original based around being stood up on a first date.

My description of this track as light and airy is the softness behind the delivery and smooth melodic vocals. Count Me Out may have been born of an angry situation but was conveyed in a sincere uncomplicated way.

Count Me Out has a youthful, fresh polished appeal, Sabreen not only delivers thoughtful lyrics and a clean unpretentious sound, but she also wrote and produced the track (mixed by Emily Wheatcroft-Snape).

Sabreen Islam has previously gained favourable feedback for her work with listeners describing her sound as “vibrant”, “dreamy” and “fresh” this is a theme that carries through her latest track.

With more musical projects on the horizon and a growing presence on streaming platforms, Sabreen is making a name for herself one catchy song after another.
