Single Review: Hardly

Caitlin Joy might not sound familiar but you’re a fan of some great acoustic pop/folk tunes, then you’ll want to read on.

Having been raised by musicians, it’s no wonder that her musical beginnings started young. While still young herself, she released her first EP, Call It Hope in 2018 and she’s been going from strength to strength in the industry; growing, learning and experimenting with her sound.

Hardly is her first single for 2022 and it’s an upbeat and warm tune that has plenty of melody and heart.

Caitlin’s vocals are soft and heartfelt, and her lyrical offerings are emotive and honest with themes of jealousy, stress and confusion.

A nice driving riff and steady rhythm section holds this song together nicely. It’s easy on the ears, solid and full of promise of what is to come next.
