Single Review: Feshh + Dice Nz Undointerpolation (meant 2 Be Remix) 1

DiCE_NZ is back, after no delay! DJ/Producer Dave Ti and friends (Mr ‘House of Downtown’, DJ Christiaan Ercolano, Percussionist Matt Sawyer, & DJ Duncan Funk) have recently created and re-shaped a fresh take on a new tune. Recognised for live electronic acts, DiCE_NZ have chilled down the atmosphere for this one, and teamed up with local artist Fessh who has taken a Bjork song, and created an interpolation over the span of four months. Bjork’s ‘Undo’ has taken a journey through time, and ended up here today.

DiCE_NZ’s ‘Meant 2 Be Remix’ of Feshh’s Undointerpolation is a darker D&B style. However, it’s the fastest of the three tracks technically present in the make-up of this song. It retains variety, despite it being mellow. It’s introspective in character. The softness of the acoustic strings, and eerie vocals bind well together. Who would have thought breakbeat, drum and bass, Indie and EDM would have lunch?

‘It’s not meant to be a struggle uphill’ has got to be some of the best lyrics music has, thanks to the Queen herself (Bjork). To find that out after some digging, my respect for DiCE_NZ went up one thousand times; kudos!

I enjoy electronic genres that push into the alternative realm; it’s the feel given when you make a familiar friend. The collaboration with Feshh is a fun twist, and I’m looking forward to more local artists like this teaming up.

About the author Gaby Ivanov-Giraldo

If I could come up with enough reasons to do music I’d be here all day. ‘Cause theres heaps. And… that’s why I’m here. A seemingly dead beat industry. Here to tell you it’s not! Anyway… I’ve been with MNZ five years. I love writing and do a bit of fun stuff on the side. I run. Love animals. People. Beer. Shhh. Haha! And I love to help others read about and understand the great local talents and bands we have here that should thrive! Because, why not?…
