Pining Radiata unveil second single ‘These Words, These Things’
Lower North Island alternative rock ensemble Pining Radiata unveil second single These Words, These Things off their forthcoming debut EP due for release 16 September 2024.
Turning things down a notch after their all-guns-blazing debut single Forget, the quartet consisting of Maeve Egan, Cass Dollery-Signal, Michael McKeagg (GTKB) and Josh Finegan (Soda Boyz, Recitals) demonstrate their more delicate side and let their yearning lyricism guide the way on ‘These words, these things’. Vocalists Maeve and Cass echo the song’s poignant title in an anthemic call and response fashion before the song washes away in a rip tide of reverb and distortion.
The band’s moody sound has been beautifully captured in a 3 day recording stint with engineer Harry Lilley (First Move) in this Palmerston North home recording. Recorded live in the living room and kitchen of guitarist Michael McKeagg’s family home, Pining Radiata’s brooding 5-track EP is set to be a treasure trove of shoegazey goodness alongside some classic Te Papaioea tropes.
