Search For Yeti Announce New Album ‘Dark So Soon’ + Single ‘Fear of Drowning’
“Thinking this might be the place or this might not be home” – Search For Yeti‘s brand new single Fear of Drowning is full of yearning, a meditation on life’s uncertainties and anxieties and ultimately finding strength in another.
The latest effort from the Te Whanganui-a-Tara based trio of Luke Marlow, Vincent Waide, and Sean Barker is the third single to be released from their forthcoming album, Dark So Soon, which will be released on November 28th to streaming services, as well as physical releases on both CD and vinyl.
The three singles the band has released so far showcase the variety of their sound that listeners will be able to hear on the album – from the cinematic atmospheric soundscape of first single Red, to the power-pop of What You Mean To Me, and now the folk-influenced Fear of Drowning, reminiscent of The Decemberists, or Sun Kil Moon with its jangly guitars and layers of different acoustic instruments.
Search For Yeti will be celebrating the new album shortly after its release with a special show at Wellington’s Meow on the 5th Dec.
