Flashback arrives as Saint Lane heads out on tour across Australia with Keli Holiday (created by Adam Hyde from Peking Duk). The new single gives listeners a taste of his fun side, with its high energy, UK garage grooves.

“This is probably the most upbeat song I have ever released,” says Saint Lane.

The collaboration between Saint Lane and Mattymadeit came about through a mutual appreciation for each other’s work. “Matty has been occasionally sending me beats for a few years now. Then at a mutual friend’s gig we talked about our shared love of stand up comedy, which really started a friendship.”

It led to Mattymadeit sending the beat for Flashback and fans will be pleased to hear it’s not the only track to emerge from this exciting musical partnership. ”Immediately I was hooked. We teed up our first session together and recorded this song, then another, then another. After a few sessions we have completed an entire album. It’s the fastest but most natural turnaround for a record I’ve ever had.”

Saint Lane, who is also an in-demand stand up comedian, adds that the vibe of Flashback was also influenced by a comedy tour throughout the US and Europe last year, opening for Australian comedian, Frenchy. “Travelling through Europe was where I really got inspired to want to make this sort of UK garage-influenced music,” he says.

Flashback comes with a video, directed by Monteemadeit, who has worked with the likes of Lady Gaga, Troye Sivan, Kid Laroi.
